Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

Shortix ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. This information is stored securely through Firebase Authentication.

URLs you shorten

When you shorten a URL, we store the original URL, the generated short code, and metadata such as creation date and click count. URLs created by guests are not linked to any user identity.

Usage analytics

We collect aggregate statistics such as total links shortened, total image conversions, and total QR codes generated. These are counters only — we do not track individual user behavior, browsing history, or personal identifiers beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

Image conversion

Image files never leave your device. All image conversion is performed client-side in your browser using JavaScript. We do not upload, store, or transmit your images to any server.

Log data

When someone visits a short link, we record the click count on that link. We do not store IP addresses, browser fingerprints, or personal data of link visitors beyond aggregate counts.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We use the following third-party services to operate Shortix:

These services have their own privacy policies and handle data in accordance with their terms.

4. Data Retention

Shortened URLs are retained indefinitely unless you delete them from your account. Guest URLs may be removed after a period of inactivity. Account data is retained as long as your account is active.

5. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support.shortix@gmail.com. support.shortix@gmail.com.

We use localStorage (not cookies) to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode) and to track guest usage limits. No third-party tracking cookies are used.
