Shortix is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

We believe the internet should be available to and usable by everyone. We are continuously working to increase the accessibility and usability of shortix.xyz, and in doing so, we adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

2. Conformance Status

Shortix is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to bring all areas into full conformance.

3. Technical Specifications

Shortix relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

4. Accessibility Features

Shortix includes the following accessibility features:

4.1 Visual Design

• High-contrast colour schemes that meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for text.
• Dark mode support to reduce eye strain and improve readability for visually impaired users.
• Scalable text — content reflows appropriately when the browser font size is increased up to 200%.
• No content relies solely on colour to convey meaning; icons and text labels are used alongside colour.

4.2 Keyboard Navigation

• All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) are reachable and operable via keyboard.
• A logical tab order is maintained throughout all pages.
• Focus indicators are clearly visible on all interactive elements.
• Modal dialogs trap focus appropriately and restore focus when dismissed.

4.3 Screen Reader Support

• All images have meaningful alternative text (alt attributes) or are marked as decorative.
• Form inputs have properly associated labels.
• ARIA roles and properties are used where appropriate to convey structure and interactivity.
• Live regions (aria-live) are used for dynamic content updates such as toast notifications.
• Page titles are descriptive and unique for each page.
• Heading hierarchy is logical and consistent (H1 → H2 → H3).

4.4 Motion and Animation

• We respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users who have enabled reduced motion in their operating system will experience minimal or no animations.

4.5 Forms and Inputs

• All form fields have visible labels.
• Error messages are descriptive and associated with the relevant input.
• Required fields are clearly indicated.
• Placeholder text is not used as a replacement for labels.

5. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas that do not yet fully meet our accessibility goals and are actively working to address them:

• QR Code canvas — The generated QR code canvas does not yet have a fully accessible text alternative. We are working to add an accessible description of the encoded URL.
• Charts and data visualisations — Our platform analytics charts (Chart.js) provide limited screen reader support. We plan to add accessible data tables as an alternative representation.
• Third-party widgets — Some third-party content (e.g. Firebase-powered UI) may not fully meet WCAG AA standards. We are working with providers or developing alternatives.

Shortix is tested with and supports the following combinations:

Shortix assessed the accessibility of this website by the following approaches:
